NLME (nonlinear mixed effects) library version 3.3.1
for S-PLUS for Windows

Authors: Jose Pinheiro <jcp@research.bell-labs.com>
         Douglas Bates <bates@stat.wisc.edu>

Port to Windows: Brian D. Ripley <ripley@stats.ox.ac.uk>

See the file INSTALL for installation instructions. This can be used
with S-PLUS for Windows versions 3.2, 3.3, 4.0 and 4.5 (Professional
Edition). This _can_ be used with S-PLUS 2000 (Professional Edition),
but with care as that already contains NLME version 3.0 (2000 Release
1) or 3.1 (2000 Release 2).

The files in directory SAS_Mixed are provided to help users of PROC
MIXED in SAS: see the README there.

UGuide.pdf is the Users' Guide: HelpData.pdf describes the datasets
included in the library. File data.comments is the set of comments
from the original data files.

All the functions have on-line help: see the file INSTALL for how
to access this. File HelpFunc.pdf is a PDF version.

Folder tests contains test scripts: run tests.q as a batch file within
that directory.
