SDF Plan9 Boot Camps have run since the 5th IWP9 in 2010.
The history of Plan9 @ SDF goes back to 1995 headed up by
Aaron Schmeidel (uucp kesher) with the idea that SDF layers
users could potentially try x86 as a Plan9 term at home.

while using SDF as a Plan9 cpu. SDF was still on 3B2 hardware
at this time but as Slackware Linux host named "kickme" was
repurposed to run Plan9 for user testing. This effort ran in
earnest until 1999 and then off and on from there on. There
definitely was a thought that SDF could be 100% Plan9, but that
made some existing users quite fearful. Why not just both?
