    Those lines are there on purpose.  They give the textual
    representation of the control characters instead of
    the canonical funny pictures.  I added them to be 
    consistent with the lucidasans and pelm unicode fonts.
    
    In theory the following lines should say 0x0020 0x00FF 0x20 9x18B.0000
    but they way they are is fine too.
