Current Projects:
CelNet Xplorer for LTE: A near-realtime E-UTRAN and EPC monitoring system for LTE network. Involved in the design and implementation of GUI, OAMP module, database design and tuning. Also involved in the study, evaluation and implementation of Self-Optimization Network algorithms and techniques for LTE.
Past Projects: (some)
CelNet Xplorer for 3G: A near-realtime monitoring system for 3G-1X and EvDO network. Involved in the design and implementation of Web-based GUI, OAMP module, Geo-maping interface, database design and tuning and specification of new features. Also participate in various system deployment and evaluation activities.
Multi-Services Network Design (MSDN): A software tool for design and optimization of multi-services network comprising of multitude of access technologies (wireless, ethernet, cable, dsl) and core transports.
GCast: A location based messageing services application plateform. Involved in various aspects of the project.
IMS Performance Study: IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystems) is the currently evolving next generation communications system being adapted by leading service providers world wide world. The IMS reference architecture employs SIP protocol as the signaling layer protocol and SIP's simple FIFO queuing discipline can result in queuing instability under certain load conditions. Extended the NS-2 simulator to evaluate several variants of the earliest-due-date-first scheduling policy.
MASCOT (Multiple ATM Switch Configuration Optimization Tool): A web-based tool for optimally configuring multiple ATM switches in a switching center. Given switch configuration rules and cost constraints, MASCOT optimizes the final switch configurations by minimizing the unused switching capacity and the inter-switch trunk overhead. This tool was also used for router configurations and optical cross-connect migration.
SPIDER: A web-based core optical network design tool that is being used within Lucent for the past several years for RPF, RFQ and research. SPIDER consists of a simple user-friendly web-based interface, a rich set of grooming and optimization algorithms for realizing various routing, protection, transparency and cost objectives.
Optical OADM Device Design, Hitless Control and Metro-WDM Ring: Co-developed a power efficient design architecture for a family of reprogrammable planar lightguide add/drop device called RPLAD. These devices are deployed in metro-optical networks to add/drop wavelengths of varying sizes. Also developed an architecture specific algorithm for hitless power control for RPLAD devices that can switch wavelengths from one port to another port with minimal power lose and transition window. Performed cost benefit analysis of the above device in metro optical ring nets under various load characteristics.
